Meet the Sun Halfway - A 1940's Fashion Inspired Look

Happy Thursday Darling! Today’s post is a celebration of the 1940’s. This beautiful vintage style dress that sings 1940’s fashion is one of the many beautiful things about the 1940’s. The 1940’s brought us amazing artists like Bing Crosby, Judy Garland, Bette Davis, John Wayne, and movies such as Bambi, Meet Me in St. Louis, Casablanca, It’s a Wonderful Life and so much more. It is important to remember history and all of the wonderful moments our country has had. It is also important to remember to count our blessings daily. In my hometown Houston, there has been devastating flooding. I was behind in shooting pictures for my website (really minor in the scope of things). This dress was one of the pieces I fell behind on. Life happens. There were many cloudy and gloomy days. When I finally shot these pictures last Saturday, the sun was shining and it brought happiness. The combination of the sunny day and the bright colored dress inspired me to call this post “Meet the Sun Halfway” which is a song from the 1940’s by the legendary Bing Crosby. Perfect! About the outfit. The dress is from eShakti. It was sent to me and I have lots of praises about it. I had options to pick out what I wanted but I really wanted something different that I could not get in the local stores. I wanted something that told a story and this dress does. I could not find it linked online but there are similar themes I linked below as well as some of my favorites from eShakti. If you have not heard of eShakti, you have to check them out. They design the outfit and you customize it. You can customize it to your height, sleeve length, dress length etc. That is perfect right? Because it is custom and not massed produced, it does take a little while to get in but well worth the wait.. Yay!
