I don’t know about you but I honestly have a hard time with winter Fashion trying to balance looking cute and staying practical. I don’t even live in a cold climate but when it does get cold, I feel like all my layers just make me look like a snowman. It’s easy to feel not as stylish during winter but there are several tweaks you can do to be a fashion queen in winter.
Today’s athletic casual look is titled that way for a reason. I was trying to think if this was a dressed up athletic look or just a casual look. Most of the styles you see on Southern Sophisticated are dressy casual. I love jeans paired with blouses and pumps or cute flats. That’s my ultimate style. Even though I’m not a Sneaker Athletic Outfit kind of gal, I do love mixing into those pieces and making my own style.
I make this style my own by not grabbing traditional Nike Sneakers. I grabbed some fun fur trimmed sneakers. I added a regular winter sweater instead of an athletic workout hoodie or sweatshirt. Adding the right accessories was really the key. First, my star beanie instantly added a cute element to the outfit. My classic black handbag is perfect for casual to dressy outfits. Finally, the silver aviators pulled the whole look together and gave it a classy feel. My signature berry pink lips add some color to an otherwise monochromatic look.
Lastly, let’s talk sizing on the leggings I am wearing for a minute. These leggings are one of the most bought items ever at Nordstrom. I had to try them out for myself. I do like them. I’m wanting to try their ankle leggings options and some other from the brand. They seem to fit true to size but I’m still doing my research. I’ll get back with you on what I think. Promise!
