With the holidays upon us, holiday outfit shopping is underway. Check out today’s easy tip on how to stay warm and cute for the cooler holidays. Plus check out my favorite velvet dresses for the holiday season.
I love velvet for fall and winter. I love the fall velvet colors like burgundy and rust. But velvet outfits are right into winter season as well with a mixture of traditional holiday colors like red and green and neural colors like silver or blush. Velvet dresses are so beautiful and photograph really well. There is not much you have to do with the rest of your outfit when you are wearing a velvet dress or jumpsuit. Velvet is such a statement in itself but adding simple earrings and a handbag finishes the look off.
I decided to go with velvet on velvet with this look. I am obsessed with my velvet pumps that I have featured tons of time on my blog like with this dress and this sweater. They are amazingly comfortable and come in a gorgeous sapphire color as well.
A super easy tip to stay warm this holiday season with winter dresses is to add a turtleneck underneath. I am wearing my white one but could have worn a black one as well. Not every style dress of course this would look the best with but a strapless midi dress like mine, it worked perfect. If you have a dress with a lower front or a short sleeve or sleeveless dress, adding a turtleneck is a great way to add warmth. The look of a turtleneck can be cute even with indoor holiday activities. Sometimes wearing a coat the whole time to stay warm is overwhelming plus you can’t show off your cute holiday dress. It can get cold going in and out of your holiday events so this is an easy tip. Also adding neural color tights can helps lock in the heat on your legs.
I have linked many beautiful velvet dresses and jumpsuits to kick start your holiday outfit shopping. Check out all the options below.
